Style Tips for Next Day Hair
There’s so many reasons why we love second day hair.
The hard work is done!
You’ve already put in blood, sweat and tears for a flawless blowout.
And let’s face it.
Lived-in hair is really the best hair!
By day two, your texture has settled into the perfect style.
The products you’ve used have worked their way in, sealing with shine, hydration and a flexible hold.
You literally have the perfect hair!
So where do you go from here?
Let’s explore some favorite ways to extend your style from day to day!
“When should I wash my hair again?”
You’ll know when it’s time.
Your hair will be more weighed down than usual and have the absence of movement and volume.
Your scalp will be irritated and itchy.
Your hair will be filmy, gritty and have residue.
Unfortunately, your hair won’t be ready for heat tools of any kind.
Heavy product buildup plus heat equals a major disaster. Don’t do it! You’ll have fried hair.
“Should I use a clarifying shampoo when I wash my hair again?”
Clarifying shampoos are designed to detoxify hair and meant to be used once or twice a week, not always for daily use.
Reasons why?
Detoxifying shampoos have one goal:
Total detox for hair.
They’re made to cleanse the hair as thoroughly as possible, but they shouldn't be used every day unless you have extreme buildup.
However.
If you don’t shampoo more than once or twice a week, then a clarifying shampoo may be used every time you shampoo.
Why?
Detoxifying shampoos remove perspiration, buildup, hair product residues, mineral deposits, hard water, chlorine, and other chemicals that cling to hair.
Believe it or not, buildups like this can happen on a daily basis.
“I perspire every day. Should I shampoo my hair daily?”
Yes. Yes. Absolutely yes!
Perspiration is the silent killer to hair.
Full of salt, it’s main function is to purify and detox. Awesome for your body. Detrimental to your hair.
Perspiration leaves a harmful salt residue on hair. Its detoxifying action doesn’t remove buildup like hair detoxifiers. It removes toxins from your body, but does nothing positive to your hair.
If not removed, it will massively dehydrate, causing breakage.
Solution?
Every time you sweat, you must shampoo to remove harmful salt residue from your hair.
“I’m really afraid of drying my hair out, but I know I need a clarifier because of my active schedule and daily workouts. What should I use?”
The best clarifying shampoos are ones that detox, but aren’t harsh, stripping or damaging to hair.
Awesome clarifying shampoos we love.
Next step?
Nourishment!
Remember your hair has been detoxed, so hydration is a must after clarifying.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate.
“What are some ways to style my hair on the next day without using so much heat?”
Body sets & rollers.
With the use of less heat every day, you’ll boost the health of your hair while extending the life of second day hair for at least 3-5 days.
These methods are easy, time saving and fun to do!
Before.
After.
“What will these rollers do for my hair?”
Velcro rollers are for volume, body and movement. Perfect for every day or special occasion styles. Sets will last up to 1 - 2 days.
Flexi-rods give extra body, tighter curls, lots of movement and sets will last up to 2 - 3 days or longer.
Perm rods give a springy effect, the tightest curl. Maximum volume, lots of movement and will last the longest: 3 days or longer.
You’ll love the life, body and movement in your hair and countless options as the days go by.
We’ve narrowed the process down to simple steps!

Setting Solutions for All Hair Types
Shine.
Hold.
Step one.
Start with smooth, frizz-free blown dry hair, preferably next day hair.
Step two.
Apply setting product of choice.
Tip: try not to apply too much product.
Comb through product with a detangling comb or brush through with a paddle brush.
Step three.
Section hair and apply rollers. Secure with roller clips or bobby pins.
Tip: for looser curls, use bigger sections; for tighter curls and longer lasting styles, use smaller sections.
Tip: for special occasion styling or for a long lasting effect, before applying rollers, mist hair with heat protection spray; section hair throughout and use a curling iron or curling wand to curl hair; when finished curling, apply roller set with rollers of choice; once complete, proceed to step five.
Step four.
With your blow dryer on a medium - warmer setting, apply heat to the top, middle and bottom of each roller.
Step five.
Lightly spray (6 - 8 inches away) your roller set with a holding spray. Let hair set and cool for 20 - 25 minutes.
Step six.
Carefully remove rollers, style hair and mist with shine.

Protect your hair while you sleep.
“When I wake up in the morning, my hair is a mess and my style is completely gone. How do I make my hair styles last and keep my hair hydrated while sleeping?”
Cotton pillows rob hair of hydration causing breakage and split ends while sleeping.
Satin pillows or satin pillowcases are the best to sleep on at night.
This preserves the silkiness of your texture and allows your hair to “sleep smooth”.
Lightly oil for a night treatment.
Did you know that hair is the driest while sleeping?
The air your hair is exposed to is most likely dry air thanks to heat or air conditioning units.
To prevent dry hair, apply 3 -4 drops of oil nightly to the ends. This seals with shine, preserves your style while you sleep and is weightless by morning.
