How we care for our hair is a crucial step in how we self care.

Time dedicated to protect, heal and care for your hair is not only vital, but has outstanding benefits like hair growth, healthy hair and a healthier lifestyle.

The best benefit?

Optimal hair care is automatic time to care for you first.

Hair is our crowned jewel.

The perfect frame for a snapshot of who we are. It gives a view into the lens of our personality and is a huge part of our identity.

We probably spend more time and money on our hair than anything else!

Hair expresses individuality, boosts self esteem and proves to the world how amazing we are.

The best self care for hair takes time and patience to see incredible results.

I’ve narrowed it down to a few must haves!

The first step is rest.

Want thicker, longer, healthier hair?

Go to sleep!

Lack of rest is the number one stress feeder.

Rest feeds hair, and lack of sleep feeds stress!

Stress at full bloom shows up in the worse way on our body, skin and hair.

Our body gains weight, skin breaks out and hair falls out!

Hair has a natural growth cycle that’s ruled by cell regeneration.

On average we can grow up to an inch or more a month and shed 100 - 150 strands of hair per day.

Stressed-out hair doubles or sometimes triples natural shedding cycles.

Our body goes into “fight or flight mode”, our hair falls out and stress triggers cell degeneration causing hair follicles to grow unhealthy hair.

Sleep Recommendations:

Newborns (0 to 3 months): 14 to 17 hours each day

Infants (4 to 11 months): 12 to 15 hours

Toddlers (1 to 2 years): 11 to 14 hours

Preschoolers (3 to 5 years): 10 to 13 hours

School-age children (6 to 13 years): 9 to 11 hours

Teenagers (14 to 17 years): 8 to 10 hours

Adults (18 to 64 years): 7 to 9 hours

Older adults (over 65 years): 7 to 8 hours

Sleep more and stress less.

Your hair will love you for it.

Your hair is what you EAT.

Nutrition plays a big role in the overall health of our hair.

I get asked constantly what grows hair. It’s not in a bottle or a pill. It’s in what you eat!

Blueberries stimulate hair follicles and trigger hair growth!

It’s no secret that a healthy lifestyle produces healthy hair.

Aim for balanced nutrition and eat smarter, not harder.

Fruits are vitamin rich, high in anti-oxidants and packed with mega nutrients.

For healthy hair, choose blueberries, cherries, blackberries, guava, papaya, oranges, kiwi and strawberries.

Foods rich in Vitamin C nourish and produce collagen, crucial to cell regeneration!

Tip: Take Vitamin C and iron together for a healthy hair growth boost.

Don’t forget about vegetables!

Eat veggies for powerful, healthy hair.

For greens, darker is best! Dark leafy greens promote hair growth and are packed with Vitamin A, E, C, niacin, folic acid and iron.

Kale strengthens hair, fights dandruff and prevents dry scalp.

Veggie Hair Facts:

Carrots and spinach are rich in biotin and fight hair loss.

Onions stop premature gray hair.

Sweet potatoes are full of beta carotene, which gives moisture to dry hair.

Tomatoes promote shiny, luxurious hair.

Beets and radishes promote hair growth.

Garlic promotes re-growth for balding areas.

Curry leaves contain keratin, a natural hair protein.

French green beans boost hair volume.

Orange veggies stop hair breakage.

Get active!

Nothing makes hair grow faster than exercise!

Physical fitness detoxifies your body, gets rid of stress, toxic waste and anything that keeps your body in an unhealthy state.

Exercise increases blood flow to your scalp and energizes hair follicles which causes your hair to grow at a rapid speed!

A good daily workout fights hair loss, unclogs your scalp, letting hair grow freely and healthy.

Whether its yoga, strength training, walking, running or circuit fitness, aim for 3-5 days of consistency for at least an hour.

Exercise strengthens your cardiovascular system and reduces the risk of illness and disease that detrimentally affects the growth of hair.

A healthy body gives healthy hair, glowing skin and strong nails.

Most important of all?

You’ll sleep better.
